Kolkata Rajbari

Heritage interior design for a Kolkata rajbari: stained glass, teak furniture, chandeliers and chequered floors by 9 Direction Studio.

These interiors are for a traditional Bengal rajbari in Kolkata, designed to embrace the character of the house rather than cover it up.

Coloured glass shutters, black and white chequered floors, carved four-poster beds and chandeliers set the mood, while warm lighting makes the timber and old materials glow. Furniture and fabrics are chosen to feel at home in a heritage setting and still be comfortable for daily living.
